Ranked in Black Ops 7 doesn't give you much time to "warm up." One match you're frying, the next you're getting camera'd off a heady and wondering what just happened. If you're testing setups in something more controlled like a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby, you'll notice the same thing most players do: the meta is less about flashy kills and more about repeatable gunfights you can win even when you're not playing perfect.
The M15 Mod 0 keeps popping up for a reason. It's not the hardest-hitting rifle on paper, but it's the one that stays honest when you're tired or tilted. Set it up to stay quiet and steady and it turns into that point-and-click feeling everyone's chasing. You can hold a lane, you can take mid-map duels, and you don't feel like you're gambling every time you peek. What really sells it is how forgiving it is when the other team starts flying at you—your reticle doesn't wander off into the sky, so you're still in the fight.
If your playstyle is constant motion, the Dravec 45 is the obvious problem child. You see it in the hands of the fastest players because it rewards that style: quick sprint-out, snappy ADS, and enough stability with the right build to keep shots grouped. And yeah, it's kind of silly at range for an SMG. You'll catch yourself taking fights you shouldn't and winning anyway. It also pairs well as a secondary when you're running a slower primary, because swapping to it feels like flipping a switch from "hold" to "hunt."
There are still legit alternatives if you're bored of the M15. The AK-27 is for people who care about TTK and don't mind working for it—miss a couple and the gun will punish you, but land clean shots and it deletes. The X9 Maverick is a different kind of stress. It's burst-fire, so you're living and dying by timing and crosshair placement. When the full burst lands, it looks unfair. When it doesn't, you're staring at the respawn screen.
Wildcard choice is where loadouts stop being "good" and start feeling personal. Overkill is the safe bet: cover long and close, no awkward gaps. Gunfighter, though, can be nasty if you know what you want fixed—extra attachments can smooth recoil, speed up handling, or stretch your effective range so the gun fits your route. Then stack perks that keep you moving and ready to shoot, because slow players get farmed. Add a stun or frag to force campers to move, and if you want to dial everything in before risking SR, run a few reps in a BO7 Bot Lobby so your class feels automatic in real games.
